Managing Your Legal Spend

Published By: Quovant     Published Date: Aug 06, 2019
When it comes to managing your organization’s legal spend, it’s important to set expectations with outside counsel clearly from the onset to avoid confusion and expensive surprises. This in-depth white paper will provide some useful ideas and insights to help you get a better handle on your legal spend. Timekeeper Authorizations – Authorizing timekeepers builds accountability into your relationship with outside counsel. Billing Guidelines – The utilization of legal billing guidelines has become the norm in the day- to-day invoicing processes of law firms. General Counsel willing to enforce billing guidelines can increase savings and promote accountability of tasks billed. Alternative Fee Agreements – Managing legal spend when firms bill on an hourly basis can be challenging. Some companies are using alternative fee agreements (AFAs) to deal with these challenges.

IDC Vendor Profile: Proven HFA Vendor Nimble Storage Achieving Rapid Success in the AFA Market

Published By: Hewlett Packard Enterprise     Published Date: Jul 25, 2019
"Flash has permeated enterprise storage in small, medium-sized, and large enterprises as well as among webscale customers like cloud and service providers. It is available in a variety of different system architectures, including internal storage, hyperconverged and converged platforms, and shared storage arrays. Revenue driven by shared storage arrays, of both the hybrid flash array (HFA) and the all-flash array (AFA) type, is much larger than from other segments today and will continue to dominate enterprise storage spend through at least 2020."

Published By: Pure Storage     Published Date: Oct 09, 2018

Published By: Pure Storage     Published Date: Oct 09, 2018

Primary Flash Market Evolving to Next-Generation Architectures

Published By: Pure Storage     Published Date: Oct 09, 2018
As flash storage has permeated mainstream computing, enterprises are coming to better understand not only its performance benefits but also the secondary economic benefits of flash deployment at scale. This combination of benefits — lower latencies, higher throughput and bandwidth, higher storage densities, much lower energy and floor space consumption, higher CPU utilization, the need for fewer servers and their associated lower software licensing costs, lower administration costs, and higher device-level reliability — has made the use of AFAs an economically compelling choice relative to legacy storage architectures initially developed for use with hard disk drives (HDDs). As growth rates for hybrid flash arrays (HFAs) and HDD-only arrays fall off precipitously, AFAs are experiencing one of the highest growth rates in external storage today — a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26.2% through 2020.

Worldwide All-Flash Array 2017 Vendor Assessment

Published By: Pure Storage     Published Date: Mar 15, 2018
The all-flash array (AFA) market has undergone significant maturation over the past two years. A high percentage of customers have already committed to an "all flash for primary storage" strategy, and every customer interviewed for this study was among those. In 2017, AFAs will drive over 80% of all primary storage revenue. All of the established storage vendors have entered this space, and there are several start-ups with over $100 million in revenue. With this level of market maturation, multiple segments have developed within the primary flash array space. There are systems targeted for dedicated application deployment, there are systems specifically for web-scale applications, and there are systems intended for dense mixed workload consolidation. These latter systems are driving most of the AFA revenue, and they aspire to become the primary storage platforms of record for enterprises of all sizes. This study evaluates the suitability of 10 vendors' AFA platforms for dense mixed ent

Open Technology Solutions Highlights the Criticality of Inline Data Reduction

Published By: Pure Storage     Published Date: Jul 26, 2017
OTS' experiences with all-flash technology mirror what many customers have experienced over the past several years. Hesitatingly optimistic, OTS deployed its first AFA in a limited environment to prove the system out, and when it performed and/or exceeded the company's expectations, it quickly started moving more workloads to it over time. Like OTS, many customers do not immediately retire their legacy storage, but in moving the more demanding workloads off of their existing environments, they provide better application performance both for those applications on the AFA and for those that stay on the legacy storage. And like OTS, the majority of AFA customers have in the past year in particular come to the conclusion that all-flash technology is the future of primary storage for performance, reliability, ease of management and expansion, and economic (as measured by total cost of ownership) reasons.
